Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom says the former Vice Chancellor of the Benue State University Makurdi, late Professor David Iornongo Ker has left indelible marks in the academia, politics and in humanitarian services.
Governor Ortom spoke today at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church Aliade during a funeral oration in honour of late Professor Ker, whose remains were laid to rest today at his country home, Tse-Ker Denor, Mbam along Makurdi-Aliade road.
He thanked God for allowing Professor Ker to celebrate 70 years before his demise, stressing that “in academics, politics and humanitarian life, he left indelible marks.”
The Governor appreciated the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, the Church and Benue people for standing with him in difficult times in the history of Nigeria, saying God never forsakes his people.
Catholic Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, His Lordship, Most Reverend Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe officiated the funeral mass.
Benue State Deputy Governor, Engineer Benson Abounu, Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Titus Uba, former Senate President, Dr Iorchia Ayu, Senators Emmanuel Orker Jev and Abba Moro among others also graced the occasion.
