Senator Ike Ekweremadu, former Deputy Senate President has received the management of the Nigeria Bottling Company, NBC and asked for a formidable partnership between the National Assembly and the NBC to preserve the environment.
Senator Ike Ikweremadu in a statement on Thursday said “We had fruitful discussions on the
need for a formidable partnership between the National Assembly and the FBRA to preserve our environment”
The lawmaker used the opportunity to press for the reestablishment of the NBC plant in Enugu to pppp employment and boost revenues for the State and its environs.
He commended the NBC for factoring in several environmental sustainability innovations and projects in their operations, including the current pilot efforts to set up a number of Recycling Banks in Abuja and Lagos to bring recycling closer to the communities and empower thousands of women economically across the value chain.
He said if well implemented, the strategy of the project will be extended to the South East and other regions of the country in no distant time.
Mr. Mathieu Seguin, the Chairman of NBC, who lead the delegation thanked Senator Ike Ekweremadu for creating an enabling environment for them discuss ways to safe the environment from dangers.
